(lifesite.net) SACRAMENTO, November 1, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The uproar created when, on October 5, Bishop William K. Weigand directed a Catholic school to dismiss drama teacher Marie Bain after she was discovered to be an escort for a Planned Parenthood abortion center, has been used by the bishop as a teachable moment. The bishop issued a message to the faithful on October 26 in which he explained his actions in light of Catholic teaching on the sanctity of life.

American Girl Dolls Say ‘I CAN’ To Abortion
Posted Thursday, October 20th, 2005 by Justin(cwfa.org) American Girl dolls have been the love of young girls for a couple of decades thanks to their focus on character, reading and American history. This August, the American Girl doll company, owned by Mattel, broke faith with those girls and their families by partnering with Girls Inc. in their “I Can” campaign. Anne Scheidler, Executive Director of the Pro-Life Action League based in Chicago, Illinois, tells us that Girls Inc. unapologetically promotes abortion and lesbianism. The shocking news is that American Girl executives are aware of that fact!

Couple says natural family planning has been good for their marriage
Posted Thursday, August 18th, 2005 by Justin
(catholic.org) For Frank and Sally Casey of the Fargo Diocese, practicing natural family planning has been good for their marriage.
“It keeps us honest with each other and it forces us, even sometimes against our will, to be realistic about what size our family should be and when we should have our children in terms of God’s will, not our culturally formed will,” Sally Casey told The New Earth, Fargo’s diocesan newspaper.Read Full Story: Catholic Online - Cathcom - Couple says natural family planning has been good for their marriage
Constituent ‘Violated’ by Durbin Change on Abortion
Posted Thursday, August 18th, 2005 by Justin(cnsnews.com) Sen. Richard Durbin will vote against Supreme Court nominee John Roberts in the Senate Judiciary Committee if Roberts disagrees with the Illinois Democrat’s view that the U.S. Constitution guarantees a right to abortion. But that vote would directly contradict Durbin’s beliefs as expressed in a 1989 letter to a constituent.
The recipient of that letter, Frank Tureskis, says he feels “violated” by Durbin’s abandonment of the right-to-life position. He lived in Springfield, Ill., when Durbin was running for the U.S. House of Representatives in 1981.

Pro-Life Groups Say Torres Baby’s Birth Will Sway Opposition
Posted Friday, August 5th, 2005 by Justin(cnsnews.com) Two days after the birth of Susan Anne Catherine Torres and the death of her brain-dead mother, pro-life groups now believe this “miracle baby” will help preserve life and convince abortion rights supporters to switch sides.
“It will cause people to stop and think twice about abortion and what the truth and the reality of it is,” Amber Dolle, media director for the pro-life group, American Life League, told Cybercast News Service.
“[The birth of Susan Anne Catherine] really helps people that maybe have sat on the fence and don’t know if the child living in the womb is really a person … to see that this is a living human person [who] we need to do all we can to protect by nature and by law in this country,” Dolle said.
“It has shown the humanity of the child in the womb,” she added.

Rap Artist Nick Cannon Tells of His Near Abortion Death in Video
Posted Wednesday, July 6th, 2005 by Justin
I heard on the radio last week that there was a new pro-life music video by some rapper. I just found out today that it is by Nick Cannon, the star in the movie Drumline. It’s nice to see people like Nick be positive role models for kids. On Nick’s website, he says Will Smith has been a positive force and mentor in his life.
(lifenews.com) His lyrics tell the story of his life — before he was even born.
“I will always be a part of you/Trust your soul know his heart is true/If I could talk I would say to you/Can I live? Can I live?”
The words come courtesy of rapper Nick Cannon, whose new music video shows how his mother wanted to abort him, but then chose life.Read Full Story: Rap Artist Nick Cannon Tells of His Near Abortion Death in Video
